Intro: Heading off into our day with prayer
Do you forget to figure up your day with warfare prayer? It happens to all of us. We are in a hurry, or distracted, running late, and we forget to start off our day with prayer. Heading off into our day without a solid foundation of prayer is like skipping breakfast.
Soon, we are feeling weak and confused. It becomes difficult to cope with the spiritual trials of our day. We make mistakes, get angry, and say things we wish we hadn’t. We offend our Lord by sinning.
Spiritual warfare prayers help strengthen us for whatever we will face in the day to come. They are like putting on armor to keep us strong and safe. Warfare prayers are preemptive strikes against the enemy of our souls.
By praying these spiritual warfare prayers before you start your day, you will prepare yourself for any difficulties or trials that will come.
You will be armored against the darts and barbs of the enemy and will be able to stand on the word and not fall.
Prayer is powerful and effective. The Bible says, “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (James 5:16).
These prayers will put you in the right frame of mind and prepare you for your day. Choose one and pray it in the morning before you even get out of bed, or as you enjoy your breakfast and you’ll be prepared for whatever comes your way.
Morning Prayer of Protection and Covering
Lord, as I begin my day, I pray that You would fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Cover me with your protecting wings and keep me safe from harm and spiritual attacks.
Help me to speak only the words you would have me speak, do only the things you would have me do, and think only the thoughts you would have me think that I may please you. Help me to be a reflection of you so others will seek you as well. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord.
Spiritual Warfare Prayer for Putting on the Armor of God
Father God, I ask for the strength to put on the spiritual armor that will protect me from harm and enable me to stand against the enemy. Guide me as I fasten the belt of truth around my waist and shield my heart with the breastplate of righteousness.
Let me wear on my feet the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, so I can share the good news with others. Empower me to lift the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Guard my mind from ungodly thoughts with the helmet of salvation. Arm me with the sword of the Spirit, which is the living word of God. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen!
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
Ephesians 6:12 – For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Armor of God for Protection
Mighty God, as I rise to face another day, I am keenly aware of the spiritual battles that await me. The enemy prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking to devour and destroy.
But in You, Lord, I find my strength and my shield. As I step into the world today, I ask that You clothe me in Your full armor, so that I can stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
Let the belt of truth remind me of Your unwavering promises. May the breastplate of righteousness guard my heart from deceit and wickedness. Let my feet be ready to share the gospel of peace, and may the shield of faith protect me from every fiery dart. Lord, equip me with the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word, so that I may be fully prepared to face any challenge.
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
2 Corinthians 10:4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
Morning Prayer of Gratitude to Bring Joy
Thank you, Lord, for another day. Help me to have a spirit of gratitude for all that you do for me. Thank you for health, a home, food on my table, and friends and family. Thank you for salvation, for freedom from sin.
I give you thanks and praise for sending your son to die on the cross so I could live in you and have eternal life. The joy of the Lord is my strength; help me to walk in that strength. Help me to share the joy of the Lord with others around me, so they will draw near to you. Amen!
Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Warfare Prayer for Spiritual Identity
Thank you, Jesus, for dying for me. As a blood-bought child of God, I am a co-heir with Christ. My Father is the King and I am an adopted son/daughter of God.
As a child of God, I am strong, holy, and redeemed. The enemy no longer has any rights to me, he cannot touch me. I march into spiritual warfare battles with You at my side.
The blood of Jesus has cleansed me from all my sin, and I am no longer living under condemnation. Thank you for my identity in Christ, I am a sinner saved by grace. Amen.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God, who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.
Declaring Authority Over the Enemy
Lord Jesus, in Your name, there is power and authority. As I venture into this day, I claim this authority over every spiritual force of darkness that seeks to hinder Your purpose in my life.
No weapon formed against me shall prosper, for I am covered by the blood of the Lamb. Every lie, every temptation, and every attempt to pull me away from Your presence, I rebuke in Your mighty name.
Grant me discernment to recognize the tactics of the enemy and the wisdom to navigate them. I declare that today, and every day, the enemy has no hold over my thoughts, actions, or decisions. I am more than a conqueror through You, who strengthens me.
Luke 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Spiritual Warfare Prayer for the Blessings of the Lord
Lord, help me to obey Your will and listen to Your voice so that I can live in Your blessing. For Your word says that You will bless those who are obedient and listen to You.
Grant me an obedient heart so that You may bless me wherever I go. As I obey You, bless my children, my home, my food, and my finances.
Bless all that I undertake and the very land upon which I walk. May all the peoples of the world recognize that You bless those who seek You. Help me to be a blessing to everyone around me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen!
Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the LORD makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.
Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Strength in Temptation
Ever-present Helper, I recognize that temptations will come my way, seeking to entice me into straying from Your path. But I take heart, for Your Word says that You provide a way out of every temptation. As I encounter these challenges today, guide my steps, and help me cling to Your promises. When my flesh is weak, be my strength.
Grant me a heart that is attuned to Your voice, so that when temptations arise, I can quickly discern and flee from them. Empower me to live by the Spirit, so that the desires of the flesh are subdued, and I walk in victory.
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
Galatians 5:16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
