Heavenly Father,
I come before You today with a broken and repentant heart. Lord, I confess my sins of lust, immorality, and giving in to the desires of my flesh. I confess the times I have given into masturbation and entertained thoughts that are not pleasing to You. Your Word says in 1 Corinthians 6:18 to “flee from sexual immorality,” and yet I have stumbled. Forgive me, Lord, for choosing temporary pleasure over obedience to You.
Father, I know the things I watch, hear, and see around me can plant seeds of lust in my mind. As Matthew 6:22–23 says, “The eye is the lamp of the body.” Lord, help me guard my eyes from what is unclean, whether on TV, the internet, or in the world, so that my whole body may be full of light and not darkness.
Your Word in Galatians 5:16–17 tells me that if I walk by the Spirit, I will not gratify the desires of the flesh, for the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit. Lord, I pray for Your Holy Spirit to strengthen me daily, to renew my mind, and to help me resist temptation when the enemy tries to attack me in my weakest moments.
As Romans 12:2 declares, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Renew my thoughts, O God. When sinful desires rise up, let Your Word rise higher within me. Help me to take every thought captive, as 2 Corinthians 10:5 says, and make it obedient to Christ.
Lord, I don’t want to live in hypocrisy—speaking of Your Word but secretly giving into sin. Wash me clean by the blood of Jesus. Teach me to walk in purity, holiness, and truth, because Psalm 51:10 says, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”
Thank You, Father, for Your mercy and unfailing love. I believe that through Christ I can overcome. As Philippians 4:13 declares, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
