When I was barely twenty-one, my father went to be with the Lord. It was the hardest time for my family, in every aspect. I had never been so close to death before. I was too young when my grandparents died to care, so I couldn’t remember the pain.
Eventually, the financial burden became very difficult. My brothers and I were all unemployed at the time and we did not have any great savings to depend upon.
To tell you the truth, I really don’t know how we made out. In fact, I can’t really say. All I know is that for almost two years, we remained unemployed except for small jobs or very temporary jobs we would get from time to time.
Yet, I cannot say that we had one moment where we could recall not having food on our table or the bills were piling up. We were always in church and gave what we had. We continued to live by God’s word, especially my mother, one brother, and myself.
God’s Blessings Flow
Eventually, we all got jobs that enabled us to pay for the normal amenities God seemed to have been providing for us while we couldn’t do it on our own.
When I reflect, I believe that God Himself was ensuring that our food baskets were never dry and that our monies didn’t run out. God placed in the hearts of people to bless us so that we always had.
If I ever wondered or doubted if God was real, this would have to be the time in my life where I have to admit He sure is real. And He sure stands by His word. And He really makes a way where there is none at all. Our God is so awesome.
Casting Your Care Upon God
The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
Do you have some burden or desperate situation that you need God to take care of? Do you need Him to intervene or is there some situation where you feel that you won’t make it through?
I believe that God can take care of any situation that concerns you. He did it for many of His children in the Bible and He is still taking care of us today. I encourage you to trust in God and serve Him with all your heart. Have faith that He will take care of all that concerns you today.
Cast your care upon Him. He can take care of it. I’m sure that He is not surprised about it. I am sure that He can make a way out for you. May your life be filled with God’s kind and tender mercies as you continue to trust in Him with all your heart.
Prayer: Casting All Your Care Upon Him
Gracious God, my Comforter and Provider, I come before Your holy presence acknowledging Your sovereignty and majesty. I know that You see every aspect of my life, that nothing is hidden from Your sight. You know the burdens that I carry, the anxieties that trouble my heart. Yet, Your word assures me that I can cast all my cares upon You, for You care for me.
In the midst of storms and uncertainties, I am reassured by Your steadfast love and faithfulness. You are my Refuge, my place of safety. I am humbled by Your attentiveness to my struggles, by Your desire to lighten my load. Thank You for Your willingness to take my burdens upon Yourself, relieving me of my worries and fears.
1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
Psalm 55:22 Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.
Turning Over Worry To God
Father, I confess that at times I find it hard to release my worries. I hold onto them, allowing them to rob my joy and peace. Help me, Lord, to fully surrender these anxieties to You. Remind me of Your unchanging character, Your limitless power, and Your deep love for me.
Guide me in releasing my problems into Your capable hands. Teach me to trust in Your perfect timing, Your unerring wisdom, and Your redeeming grace. I want to exchange my burdens for Your peace.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Abiding in God’s Love
Oh Lord, remind me to abide in Your love, to remember that nothing can separate me from it. Even in the midst of struggles, Your love is constant. As I cast my cares upon You, let me be enveloped by Your love, finding solace and comfort in Your embrace.
Help me to understand the depth and breadth of Your love for me. Let Your love cast out every fear, every worry, every anxiety. As I yield to Your love, let Your peace reign in my heart.
Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
Resting In God’s Care
As I cast my cares upon You, Oh Lord, I am grateful for the promise of Your care. Your hands hold the universe, yet You hold each one of us close to Your heart. I choose to rest in Your care, to believe in Your goodness, to rely on Your strength.
Even when I can’t see the way, I trust in Your guidance. Even when I don’t understand, I trust in Your wisdom. I surrender my worries to You, confident in Your care and provision. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
Matthew 6:31-33 “So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Deuteronomy 1:31 There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.
