Prayer To Overcome Evil

In our world, there’s a force that goes against God’s goodness and love. This is evil, a stain on what is right and pure. God is righteous, pure, holy, true, just, and perfect. His will is perfect and He has made all things in His power and might.

We are called to show that the light of God is in us, as we do the things that will please Him, and not dishonor Him.

We are not like the children of the world, whose father is Satan. For we know that Satan has no business doing what is right and pleasing to God, but has been a liar from the beginning.

Jesus made it known to us in John 8:44: “… When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

This is why the Bible continually teaches us to run away from evil and overcome it, because it is the character of the devil, and there is no relationship between light and darkness.

Jesus said in the prayer, teaching us: “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”

It is the will of God that we do not partake in evil deeds that will not glorify Him, but He also gives us the power to overcome evil and do His good will and pleasure through us: “for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.” – Philippians 2:13.

You are different from the people of the world. You are the light of the world, a difference in the darkness that blinds men.

Let Us Pray

The Cry For Deliverance

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I come before Your throne of grace, humbly asking for Your divine intervention in my life. The forces of evil seem to be looming, but I stand on the solid rock of faith in You, knowing that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. Empower me to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Evil may roar, but it is You who has the final say, my God. I surrender my fears and anxieties to You. Grant me the courage to resist the devil so that he may flee from me. I trust in Your promise that nothing shall by any means hurt me.

Ephesians 6:10-11 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

The Fight Against Evil

Oh Lord, as I struggle against the forces of evil, guide me to put on Your whole armor. Let truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation be my protection, and Your Word my weapon. Help me stand firm, knowing that my battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil.

Strengthen me, Father, to overcome the evil one, by the blood of the Lamb, and the word of my testimony. Help me to remember always that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.

Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

The Victory Over Evil

Almighty God, I proclaim that You have already overcome the world and that I share in that victory through my faith in You. I claim the victory over all the powers of darkness in my life. I celebrate Your divine power, which is able to break every chain and set every captive free.

You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus. I thank You for the assurance of victory and for Your steadfast love that endures forever. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray, Amen!

John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Psalm 46:1-2 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.
