Prayer – Defeating The Lies Of The Enemy
Defeating The Lies Of The Enemy
We have thousands of thoughts each and every day. Yet God commands us to take EVERY thought captive. So pay attention to what you are thinking and decide if those thoughts are in agreement with what God tells us in His Word.
The enemy will say “You’re sick and sickly.” – But the Scriptures says: 1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds, you have been healed.
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes, we are healed.
Satan will tell you: “You are poor”. – God’s Word tells me: Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
The enemy tells you: “Oh, You are so sad”. – Psalm 30:5 says that weeping may endure for a night, but I know joy is coming in the morning.
The enemy reminds you that you are hopeless. You are thinking: “Nothing good ever happens to me.” Break those chains of despair! Zechariah 9:12 Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.
The enemy lies: “You and your family will amount to nothing.” – Really? I have a better report from the Word of God. It says “as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
The Scripture says, “We walk by faith and not by sight.” That means we don’t have to see it to believe it. It’s just the opposite. If we believe it, then we see it.
The enemy lies you will not have. – You declare and pray: “Lord, You said no good thing will You withhold because I walk uprightly. And I believe even right now You are arranging things in my favor.”
Remember, God is in complete control. So be a prisoner of hope instead of despair. Get up each day expecting His favor.
1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
Prayer – Defeating The Lies Of The Enemy
Almighty God, my Heavenly Father, I come to You today in the precious name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior. May Your Holy Spirit guide me as I pray, seeking Your strength and protection against the lies of the enemy.
Strengthen me in my faith and in my knowledge of Your truth. Give me wisdom and discernment that I may recognize the lies of the enemy when they come, and reject them with the power of Your Word and Your Spirit.
Psalm 28:7 – The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.
Ephesians 6:14-15 – Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
Heavenly Father, my thoughts are getting the better of me. I find myself thinking of myself in ways I should not. Sometimes it makes me feel defeated, weak and unworthy.
Oh Lord, take these thoughts captive and transform my mind totally. May my thoughts be brought in line with Your Holy Word.
2 Corinthians 10:3-4 – For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
James 4:7 – Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
