Jesus Christ taught His disciples to ask for daily bread from the Father. Not weekly bread or monthly bread, but basically their daily needs.
This does not only show us that the Father longs to have fellowship with us daily, but it also tells us that He is a responsible Father, who wants to sustain us daily, as we depend on Him.
Let Us Pray
My precious Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, this beautiful morning I come with a heart of thanksgiving before You.
I thank You for reconciling me back to the Father through Your death and giving me confidence to stand unashamedly before the throne of God.
My Father and my God, thank You for being my Provider. You have provided for my family yesterday, please come and do it again today.
Psalms 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
Numbers 6:24-26 – “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
Satisfy Our Daily Needs
Give us this day our daily bread, as we lean on and depend on You. I am trusting You for daily provision even when things are not so smooth.
Yes, sometimes finances are dry. Sometimes I can’t afford to pay my bills. But Your Word says that the righteous person will never beg for bread nor be forsaken.
Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Psalm 59:16 – But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress.
Bless Us Today
Father, Your Word says that I should not worry about what I am to eat or to drink or to wear, for You provide for all living organisms: You give daily food to the birds of the air which have no barns, and you clothe the flowers of the field.
Heavenly Father, You said I am much more valuable than they are. So I wait for Your provision today again.
Provide for me. Bless me this day. I lay all my needs before You. I leave them in your loving care. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Matthew 6:28-31 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you —you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ’What shall we eat?’ or ’What shall we drink?’ or ’What shall we wear?’
