Warfare Prayer Against Procrastination

Are you constantly procrastinating, delaying what you know must be done? Does laziness control your day?  One of the enemy’s attack is to deceive us into putting off what we know we should do. “God, I’m going to do it, just not right now.” Be productive. Start doing what the Lord has laid on your heart. Be obedient to the Lord!

Proverbs 22-13 (TPT) A slacker always has an excuse for not working – like “I can’t go to work. There’s a lion outside! And murderers too!”

Feeling like it’s too hard

Heavenly Father, I’m struggling to motivate myself for the tasks ahead. I feel so weak, and tired. I don’t feel that I can achieve it. The mountains ahead of me just seem too high.

But, Lord, you have not given me a spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound, well balanced mind. I draw upon the spirit of strength and discipline you have bestowed upon me. I know that I can do all things through You who gives me my strength.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Procrastination because of fear of failure

Lord, these thoughts of failure are constantly in my mind. What if I’m not good enough? What if all my efforts are in vain? How will I feel? What will others think of me?

1 Peter 3:17 For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.

Procrastinating because of laziness

Oh Lord, laziness pursues me. I find so many excuses to delay, and they all seem to be good reasons. But Your word warns “Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.” (Proverbs 10:4)

Proverbs 15:19 The way of the lazy is as a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway.

Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

Heavenly Father, I put aside all delay, all procrastination. Give me the motivation I need to power through the things I need to do. May I do everything as unto you, Lord, and not to men. May I be faithful and diligent in even the least of things I need to complete. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!
