Are you constantly dealing with procrastination, delaying what you know must be done? Does laziness control your day? One of the enemy’s attacks is to deceive us into putting off what we know we should do.

“God, I’m going to do it, just not right now.” Be productive. Start doing what the Lord has laid on your heart. Be obedient to the Lord!

Proverbs 22-13 (TPT) A slacker always has an excuse for not working – like “I can’t go to work. There’s a lion outside! And murderers too!”

Spiritual Warfare Prayer Against Procrastination

Heavenly Father, I come before You today, humbly seeking Your guidance and strength to fight against the spirit of procrastination.

It has often held me back, causing me to put off tasks, make excuses, and fail to fulfill my responsibilities. I acknowledge that it is a hindrance to my growth, productivity, and the purpose You have for my life.

I understand that time is a precious gift You have given me, and every moment I have is an opportunity to do something meaningful for Your glory.

I repent for the times I’ve squandered this gift through procrastination, and I ask for Your forgiveness. Please help me to value the time You’ve given me and use it wisely.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.

Ephesians 5:15-16 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.

Prayer for Motivation and Self-Discipline

Dear Lord, I recognize that one of the keys to overcoming procrastination is developing motivation and self-discipline. I pray for the desire to do what needs to be done, even when it’s hard or I don’t feel like it. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, who will give me the strength and the self-control to overcome the urge to delay.

Help me to be disciplined in all areas of my life, to set goals, and to follow through with them. Let my motivation not be from worldly gains, but from the desire to please You and fulfill the purposes You have set for my life.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Prayer to Overcome Fear and Anxiety

I understand, Lord, that at times, procrastination is caused by fear and anxiety. Fear of failure, fear of not being good enough, or even fear of success. I ask for Your help in conquering these fears.

When I am anxious, remind me of Your unfailing love and power. When I fear failure, remind me that You are with me and that in You, I am more than a conqueror.

Help me to trust You completely and to rely on Your strength when I am weak. I choose to cast all my anxieties on You, for You care for me. Let your perfect love cast out all my fears.

Psalm 56:3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Procrastination Because Of Laziness

Oh Lord, laziness pursues me. I find so many excuses to delay, and they all seem to be good reasons. But Your word warns “Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.” (Proverbs 10:4)

Heavenly Father, I put aside all delay, all procrastination. Give me the motivation I need to power through the things I need to do.

May I do everything as unto you, Lord, and not to men. May I be faithful and diligent in even the least of things I need to complete. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen!

Proverbs 15:19 The way of the lazy is as a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway.

Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
