Lord, there are a lot of ravenous wolves in the world disguised as sheep, just waiting to pounce on the weak, the needy, the helpless, the hopeless and those who lack knowledge of your word. Lord Jesus, help them. Open their eyes that they would see.

Unblock their ears that they would hear. Soften their hearts that they would feel. Grant them your wisdom, that they would understand. Help them to embrace you. Open their lives.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

Open our hearts to your wisdom

Lord, please open the eyes of our hearts, we want to see you high and lifted up. Pour out your power, love, and blessings upon our lives, let it rain.

Lord, we hunger and thirst after you. May your Holy Spirit teach us to understand your word and impart it to others righteously.

Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.

Psalms 119:2 How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, Who seek Him with all their heart.

Recognizing false doctrines and preachers

Lord, there are many who pretend to be your disciples but preach false doctrines.

Teach us, your faithful followers, to decipher and recognize these false prophets. They twist the real meaning of your beautiful scriptures to suit what they believe to be right.

Hence, this is where religion comes into play. Oh loving Father, may we not be religious but be righteous people of your holy land.

Religion lists the dos and don’ts, while your word gives us the key to your kingdom.

Matthew 10:16 Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

Matthew 7:15-20 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. …

Prayer for wisdom and discernment

May we not be fooled by these false doctrines and false prophecies, for these are all works of the devil to deceive your people. Send your angels to protect us from all evil.

Help us all to be true to who we are, what we are, and who we believe in, which is you, Oh Heavenly Father. Give us the strength to withstand all earthly temptations and trials set before us.

Grant us wisdom and strength to recognize these deceivers. In Jesus ‘ powerful, mighty name. Amen!!

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, 17 comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.

Luke 10:3 Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.
