In Proverbs 18:10, it is written, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”

What does it mean for the name of the Lord to be a strong tower? A tower is a tall, formidable structure used for protection. It offers a secure place for those inside to find refuge during times of danger. Similarly, the name of the Lord represents protection for us—a stronghold, an unshakeable fortress.

But how do we seek refuge in the name of the Lord? The key lies in the term “righteous.” To be righteous is to maintain a right relationship with God, to heed His commands, and to earnestly pursue His will.

By endeavoring to lead a righteous life, we can approach the name of the Lord with confidence, assured that He will grant us protection and sanctuary.

Yet, the name of the Lord is more than just a physical bastion. It also serves as a wellspring of strength and solace. Psalm 20:1 states, “May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob protect you!”

When we invoke the name of the Lord during trying times, He listens and endows us with the fortitude and consolation required to overcome our challenges.

Thus, let us cherish the name of the Lord as a robust tower in our lives. Let us commit to righteous living and seek His name in our moments of distress. In doing so, may we discover safety, power, and the comforting embrace of His love.

Finding Refuge in His Name

Gracious and Almighty Father, as I come before You today, I am reminded of the power and protection that lies in Your name. In a world filled with chaos, uncertainty, and challenges, Your name stands as a beacon of hope and a sanctuary for my weary soul.

Just as a child runs to their parent for comfort and security, I run to You, Lord, knowing that in Your name, I find safety. When the storms of life threaten to sweep me away, and the waves of challenges rise against me, it is the name of the Lord that I call upon.

There is a supernatural assurance and peace that envelops me when I whisper Your name in the midst of trials. I do not merely utter a word; I invoke the presence of the Creator of the universe, my Savior, and my Shield.

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.

Philippians 2:10 So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.

My Strong Tower Of Protection

My God, Your name is my strong tower of refuge and protection. In it, I find safety and peace like still waters. When I am afraid, worried and troubled, I will find reassurance, comfort and rest in Your Name.

My Lord, in this world, I will face trouble, persecution, rejection and disappointments. But Your name is the emergency number that I can call for rescue. When I am overwhelmed and when I can barely think straight, help me to stop and call on Your Name.

Acts 2:21 Everyone who calls on the Name of the LORD will be saved.

Romans 8:28: And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Call On The Name Of The Lord

Your word says that whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Lord, the power to save, to deliver and to set free is in Your  name. When I call on You I will be saved from any danger, trouble and anything giving me sleepless nights.

You are the horn of my salvation my God. Help me to be different from the unbelievers who trust in their own strength and wisdom. Today, I want to earnestly call on Your name for help, guidance, and protection. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.

2 Timothy 4:18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
