Prayer – Safe In The Shadow Of His Wings

Danger and evil abound everywhere around us today. But as Christians, we have the privilege of resting safe in the protective arm of our God. The Word says “be of good cheer, I’ve overcome the world!”. (John 16:33).

Where do you take your refuge? Who do you go to in times of distress? Have you allowed sin to get between you and God?

I’ve heard people say, my God is not with me. But it is usually that they are not with God. Their guilt and sins have made them ashamed to approach the Lord with a humble heart and open spirit.

Let Us Pray – Prayer: Safe In The Shadow Of His Wings

Seeking Refuge in God’s Presence

Heavenly Father, my Abba, in a world teeming with uncertainties and threats, I find my solace knowing that You are my refuge. At times, I feel the winds of adversity blowing fiercely, attempting to sway me off my feet.

Yet, when I remember Your promises and Your ever-present help, my heart finds peace. I draw near to You, seeking the shelter of Your wings, where I know I am safe and secure.

Like a child who runs to their parent’s embrace, I run to You, Lord. I find comfort knowing that under the shadow of Your wings, no harm can befall me. Your presence acts as a shield, protecting me from the fiery darts of the enemy and from the storms of life.

Psalm 17:8 Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.

Psalm 57:1 Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.

The Assurance of His Love

Dearest Jesus, it amazes me to think of the vastness of Your love – a love that was displayed on the cross for my sake. In the shadow of Your wings, I’m not just protected; I am also reminded of this unparalleled love.

I take heart knowing that nothing can separate me from Your love, neither heights nor depths, nor any other creature.

Your love is my strength. Even when I feel lost, weak, or overwhelmed, the thought of Your unyielding love fortifies my spirit. It is a love that never gives up on me, a love that shelters and nurtures, reminding me that I am Yours and You are mine.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Psalm 36:7 How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.

A Place of Renewal and Strength

Lord, the challenges of life can be draining, wearing out my spirit and strength. But in the stillness beneath Your wings, I find rejuvenation. It is a place where my soul is refreshed, where I can drink deeply from the streams of Your grace.

Here, I am reminded that my strength does not come from my efforts, but from You, the everlasting God.

You renew my energy, grant me fresh hope, and provide the wisdom I need to face another day. Under Your wings, I find more than just protection; I find a source of vitality and vigor, enabling me to soar on wings like eagles.

Isaiah 40:31 But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

Call to Constant Communion

Gracious Spirit, the comfort of being in the shadow of God’s wings is not meant to be a fleeting experience, but a perpetual communion.

Prompt my heart to consistently seek this sacred space, not just in times of trouble but in every moment of my life. Teach me to be still and know that You are God, to recognize the continuous call to dwell in Your presence.

As I navigate the journey of life, may my steps be aligned with Your will. Let the assurance of Your protection and the nearness of Your presence be my constant guide, leading me closer to You with each passing day.

James 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Psalm 63:7 Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.

Lord, Remove All Doubts And Unbelief

Abba Father, thank You for teaching me today that nothing happens TO me, but all things happen FOR me. Lord, I believe. But remove my doubts and unbelief.

Now, I do not see how ill-health will work together for my good. I do not see how parenting wayward children will work together for my good.

But Your word is worth trusting, because you have never lied, and you never will. So, Lord, thank you that my current struggles are giving birth to great testimonies.

As I dwell in the secret place of your Word and fervent prayer, and as I abide in the shadow of your wings—the shadow of safety, may You teach me patience, Lord. I refuse to complain.

Let my faith grow so that I will always be sure of the things You have not done yet. I wait on you Lord, here in the shadow of your wings. I will wait for your salvation, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
