At some point, we all fear that the enemy is going to do evil in our lives and ruin our plans and destiny. We think that Satan can do anything He wants to do in our lives. But the Bible has good news for us.

Psalms 125:2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the Lord surrounds His people From this time forth and forever.

Job 1:8 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”

Job 1:9 So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing?

Job 1:10 Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.

Job 1:11 But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!”

Job 1:12 And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.

Job was a righteous man just like we are (we, children of God, are the righteousness of God). And God surrounded him and all he had with a wall of protection. Satan could not touch Job without God’s permission.

So fear not. Satan cannot do anything to you, because God surrounds you. When you see something undesirable happening to you, know that God is aware, He has filtered it, and double checked to confirm that you will overcome it, and it will work out for your good.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Let Us Pray – Surrounded By The Lord

Dear Lord, sometimes I get overtaken by fear of the enemy. I fear that the enemy will ruin my life, my marriage, my finances and my relationships. I fear that the enemy is up to something wicked that he will use to destroy my life.

But the Bible says You surround me as the mountains surround Jerusalem, and You have put a hedge of protection around me. In You, I find refuge and safety. You are a shield for me and the lifter up of my head. You are my stronghold, my buckler and the horn of my salvation.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Isaiah 59:19b When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.

Seeking God’s Embrace and Protection

Heavenly Father, my refuge and strength, in this moment of solitude and reflection, I long for the safety of Your embrace. As all around me feels tumultuous and uncertain, I seek the assurance of being held and protected by Your loving hand.

Clothe me with Your presence, that I may feel safe and surrounded by Your love at all times. Shield me from the trials and tribulations that I face, and let me find solace in the shadow of Your wings.

Empower me with the courage to face each day, knowing that You go before me and stand behind me. In Your protection, I find peace; in Your strength, I find confidence.

Psalm 91:1-2: “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'”
Deuteronomy 31:6: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

My Stronghold

You, oh Lord, are my light and my salvation; what shall I fear? You are the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid of? When the enemy comes in like a flood, Your Spirit will lift a standard against Him.

Thank You, Holy One of Israel! You are my Keeper and my Protector. I will put my trust in You. No more will I fear the enemy because You have surrounded me. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen!

Psalms 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalms 27:3 Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident.
