Prayer For A Sound Mind

A lot of people are dealing with negative words that were spoken about them. Accusations, identity crisis, low self esteem, negativity, pessimism, anxiety, fear and bad mental health all try to take away from the sound mind the Lord has blessed us with.

You cannot always control what is said to you, but you can control how you think about it, and how you respond to it. You can control how you see yourself and have the peace of God in your life.

2 Timothy 1:7. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

If you concentrate on lies and focus on people’s negative opinions about you, you will only lose your peace of mind. Start seeing yourself the way God does.

Look at yourself in the light of God’s word. God, looks at you without judgement. He looks at you and sees the love of His life. He doesn’t count your wrongs, but He wants you to become more like Him daily.

Be at peace. Do not fear. Do not be depressed and anxious. Live one day at a time. Trials, hardships and persecution will come, but know that God is right there with you in that storm.

And He has overcome the world for you. Therefore, be of good cheer, and keep a sound mind. Without a sound mind, it is hard to serve God.

John 16:33. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Let Us Pray

Oh YAHWEH of Israel, all nations shall come and bow before Your great name, and shall glorify Your name. For You are great, and do wondrous things. You alone are God.

In the day of my trouble I will call upon You, for You will answer me. Oh Lord, give ear to my prayer, and attend to the voice of my supplications. My Father, my Maker, incline your ear to my prayers.

Ephesians 6:12. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

Overcoming With A Sound Mind

Lord, I am overwhelmed by my situation and I find myself meditating on my troubles rather than on your promises concerning my life. Sometimes, I let the negative words of people get to me, in stead of reminding myself of what You said about me.

Debt, ill health, constant arguments in my relationship, joblessness, and the accusations, have become a noise in my life, and they have taken away my peace of mind. Father, calm my mind and restore your peace to me, in Jesus name.

1 Corinthians 2:16 “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

1 Peter 1:13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Focusing On The Lord

Renew my mind and refresh my inner man, my Lord. Heal me from anxiety, depression and fear of the future. Grant me a sound mind in good and bad times. Help me to focus on your word when noises from the enemy increase. In the name of Jesus Christ  I pray, Amen.

Isaiah 26:3. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
