Let Go of Unforgiveness

Father, I am replaying my past within my mind. These thoughts of unforgiveness are consuming me daily and the unbearable pain lingers on.

I can’t seem to let go of what has happened. It hurts my heart, each and every time. I don’t see any way out of this situation.

But, Lord, I know You will make a way. Please guide me accordingly, to do the right thing, based on Your will.

Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Releasing it all

Oh Jesus, be the center. Let everything else fall away. I will not allow doubt nor fear to overwhelm me: I release it! I will not allow my bitter past to consume me: I curse it out!

Those who have wronged me, I now forgive and set aside our differences, as I allow the example of Christ to be my guide.

Romans 12:19 – Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord.

1 Peter 3:9 Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate when people say unkind things about you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God wants you to do, and he will bless you for it.

Forgive others

I forgive every situation and every person I once held in my mind. And, as I release it into Your hands, I am set free. I shout praises of joy in Your Holy name. In Your presence is where I always want to be.

Help me to live a Holy life, dear Lord. Show me the way and let me be a light and an example to those around me. I release the past and unforgiveness as I declare I am set free, in Jesus’ Holy name, Amen!

Ephesians 4:26-27 – Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.

Matthew 5:44 – Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.

Prayer for Forgiveness

Oh Heavenly and Gracious Father, I come before you as a humble servant, thanking You for yet another day of health and strength. I thank You for peace of mind, love, and for everything that You have generously bestowed upon me.

At this time, I humbly ask Your forgiveness for all my sins. Lord, I ask for wisdom, kindness, and endurance. Lead me so that I would not indulge in these sinful acts again.

Lord, just as You so generously forgive me, help me also to forgive others and not keep any form of hate, anger, or revenge within my mind.

Bestow the power of love upon us all and just as I forgive so too would everyone. In our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ’s name I pray Amen.

Ephesians 4:31-32 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

I take Full and total responsibility of my Actions which led to Sin,I dont blame others because now i know it was me/myself at Fault,I am very sorry for All the pain and hurts that ive cause to my family,friends,neighbors and any others i may have forgotten I Repent and I ask GOD to forgive me and help me become the person he has called me to be,I admit I am a Sinner but today I choose the ways of the Lord to Love All peoples and to forgive All peoples,I choose Jesus Christ as my Lord,Savior,and God and I do believe he paid our sin debts in full ,Rose the 3rd Day with the Victory,I ask Jesus to come into my Heart and save me and make me whole and a light to help others,I Love u Jesus and I thank you I need you in my Life forever,Take over my Life I surrender to your Will and to your Way,Without you I can’t do nothing,Here am I,Your Child just as I am to you I Surrender.

    Father, it always amazes me just how much you love me.

    Why someone of your power, stature, and authority would sacrifice so much for me is truly beyond me.

    And yet, you did.

    Your love for me is the only reason why I’m able to stand before you today.

    You’re the nourishment for my soul, the very air I breathe.

    Just knowing that you love me and that you’re with me brings comfort to my spirit.

    However great the problems in front of me may seem, I know that you are much much bigger.

    For truly nothing is too difficult for you Lord!

    And if someone like you loves me this much, what in the world could I fear?

    So I rest in your love today. Bless me, protect me, and keep me.

    Teach me to love others as you love me.

      The past is gone, I am forgiven, and I forgive, Oh Thank you this is exactly what I need God is always right on time.

  15. Once you forgive the person/person’s that you need to forgive, they no longer have a hold over you or your life. The bottom line is that forgiveness is mostly for you,your health, your peace of mind, and mostly your relationship with God. After you have forgiven, Pray for the person/s who hurt you. This is probably the hardest part of the whole concept. But when you pray for the person/people, God can reach into the whole situation and go to work. Be sure to leave the situation and person/people alone. Don’t do anything else, let God do what He is going t do and you focus on looking forward. Forgive and forget. God Bless.

    1. Thank you for posting this – VERY encouraging. I am praying for forgiveness in a difficult situation and trusting for God’s mercy and forgiving the people in the situation. The challenging part for me is the “Don’t do anything else, let God do what He is going to do and you focus on looking forward. Forgive and forget. God Bless.” so please pray I can have that Forward Eyes-On-Christ Focus that draws me nearer to Him! Amen

      1. Thank you Codependant for your kind reply. I know how hard this is for you for I have been there, in two separate very difficult family situations that broke my heart. My dear our life is hard at times. But when we overcome more challenges,we become much stronger. I will remember you in my family prayers and ask that our ever loving Father will help you to Forgive but Remember. Remember what happened to you, so that you remain alert to similar situations in the future in order to keep yourself safe. so that you can focus on being the Strong, Compassionate, Empathetic and Forgiving individual your Holy Father created you to be.     2. Thank you a lot Yvonne for shading more light onto the prayer. I am in the process of forgiving those who hurt me so that I can be set free from this bondage, stop thinking of revenging, let go of my anger and bitterness towards them. It has consumed me for too long it was beginning to take over my life with nothing else going on in my mind.

      Please pray for me as I take this step and let God take over.

      I need peace of mind. I need to be free from this.
