A Blessed Father’s Day Prayer!

Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Being a father truly is a wonderful and special responsibility. A father provides for his children and teaches them respect and honor.

He’s expected to be there at birth, and throughout the life of the growing child. And even as children become adults, they still want to turn to their father for those words of wisdom.

If you are blessed to be able to spend time with your father today, give him thanks for all that he has done throughout your life.

If he’s no longer alive, thank your Heavenly Father for the blessings of a dad/step-dad. If your memories are painful, we pray that you can release that hurt and pain and heal.

Psalms 127:3-5 ESV Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate. 

Father’s Day Prayer

Heavenly Father, we ask that You honor our earthly fathers. We thank you for Your love of us, sending Your son, Jesus Christ, to love and cherish us.

May we cherish and bless our fathers.  This Father’s Day, we remember the sacrifices fathers make for their families.

For those who are fathers and step-fathers, give them wisdom and humility to be great parents. Give them the strength to do well by their children and by You. In Jesus Holy name we pray, Amen.

Proverbs 23:24 –The father of the righteous has great joy. Whoever fathers a wise child delights in him.

Galatians 5:22-23 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
