You Have Rights! 6 Rights of Today’s Christian

Lately, a lot of people are clinging to their ‘rights’ or fighting for ‘equal rights’ for themselves or people around them. A lot of the ‘rights’ being fought for are out of selfishness, greed, and lust.

Christians are often faced with challenges that test their faith and beliefs. Amidst these challenges, it’s crucial to remember that as followers of Christ, we are not left defenseless or without guidance.

As children of God, we also have rights, and we should be unashamed of these rights! Our position comes from God!

The Bible provides us with clear rights that empower us to navigate the complexities of modern life while staying true to our faith. Here are six fundamental rights of today’s Christian that you should remember and cherish.

1. We Have The Right To Success

Whatever dream God has placed in our hearts, God has also given us the ability to accomplish it. Our success is found in our obedience to God:

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates day and night.
He will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season;
its leaf will not wither, and whatever he does will prosper. Psalms 1:1-3

2. The Right To Be Wealthy

I grew up hearing that Christians ought to be meek and confused it with being poor, but the word of God says something different.

The blessing of the Lord—it makes [truly] rich, and He adds no sorrow with it [neither does toiling increase it]. (Proverbs 10:22 AMP).

3. The Right To Be In Good Health

As children of God, health belongs to us; we should not be walking around with sickness and disease when Jesus died for our every sickness.

Isaiah 53:5 (NIV) – But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds, we are healed.

4. The Right To God’s Favor

Children of God have the right to walk around and expect the favor of God to follow them. We don’t have to buy or pay for things to go our way. When we keep God’s word, He gives us favor.

Proverbs 3:3-4 (NIV) Let love and faithfulness never leave you. Bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

5. The Best Jobs, Promotions, And Business Prosperity

The children of God should not be the last to be promoted and their businesses should not be the first to fold. God wants us to prosper so that we can show forth His glory. Who wants to be a Christian if you won’t succeed in this life?

Our promotions come from God for a purpose. We are the ones with the wisdom of God – who better then, to be in decision-making positions when it comes to our jobs and countries?

Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV) Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

6. To Live In Peace

In today’s society, we live in fear. Of course, there is reason to when we think about all the crime that is taking place, but you know as a child of God, He keeps us.

The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. “So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.” Numbers 6:24-27

We have that right because of what Jesus Christ has done for us, when He redeemed us. He redeemed us from every curse and the law. We do not have to live by worldly principles. We can live by God’s principles and in His economy, where there is no lack.

Today my prayer is that you live in your rights as a child of God and never forget it. May His grace shine on you and keep you always, Amen.
