Prayer When I’m Pulling Away From God
Life is full of ups and downs. Sometimes, we get too busy with our lives and unintentionally neglect our relationship with God. We may happen gradually but we soon find ourselves daily pulling away from God.
Like other relationships, our relationship with God requires us to know Him and communicate with Him regularly. Relationships on earth can easily die due to a lack of communication.
And such is the case with our relationship with God. Therefore, it’s important we pray, praise and worship the Lord daily, and meditate on God’s word to know Him and His will for our lives.
1 Chronicles 16:11 Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!
1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
Sometimes it is really a challenge. You want to get back into your prayer life, but you just wake up in the morning and realize you haven’t prayed the previous night. You want to read your Bible, but it is not interesting, and you have no courage to do so.
We don’t seek God just because we want protection and favor, but we seek Him because our souls need Him. Above everything, our souls suffer when we neglect the Word of God. Just as food is to the body, so is the Word of God to our souls.
Psalms 42:1-2 As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?
Psalms 62:1 Truly my soul waits upon God: from him comes my salvation.
Let Us Pray
Heavenly Father, lately I’ve sensed as though I am pulling away from you. Yet, in these moments of doubt and distance, I am reminded of my need for your love and grace.
My God, help me to draw near to you and to resist the temptation to turn away. Forgive me for the times I have let my doubts and fears consume me, and for the times I have not trusted in your goodness.
Dear Lord, I’m sorry for neglecting my fellowship with You and being too busy for You. I know that I used to meditate on your word more often than now. I used to pray more consistently than now. But I have pulled away from You.
Please, pardon my sins and bring me back to You. Help me to spend more time with You, more than I spend on my phone. Help me to love You above all things in my life.
Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
Stop Pulling Away
Thank You Lord that You are calling me to Yourself today. You said that if I seek you today I will find You.
Lord, I long to have a sweet fellowship with your Spirit. I long for revelations as I meditate on your word. Lord, I return to You.
Open up my heart to your Word again, that as I read it I may understand your purpose and perfect plan. I pray that you fill me with Your Holy Spirit who will teach me and remind me of all things.
John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
Psalms 119:130 The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.
Draw Closer
My Lord and my God, please revive my prayer life. Revive my spiritual life. Give me passion for prayer again, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Let my spirit be stronger than my flesh. I rebuke every spirit of laziness. I rebuke every spirit of slumber. I rebuke every spirit of tiredness in the name of Jesus Christ.
I receive the light of God in my spirit. My spirit man is strengthened, renewed and revitalized in the name of Jesus Christ, AMEN.

Good morning, I definitely feel like I’ve pulled away from God while I spend time with caring for my mother. She’s very bitter, complains, overbearing, combative and hyperactive. It puts me in a very bad space mentally and emotionally. She loves God but doesn’t have Faith in Him. It wavers. So it puts me in a negative space therefore I don’t pray as much or I start to pull away. As soon as I get away from her, I’m back to being closer to God, Jesus and Holy Spirit.
