Prayer For Discernment – To Expose Friendly Enemies

There are people in our lives who appear to be friendly and helpful but in reality they are enemies of our lives. Spiritual wisdom and discernment enables us to know and expose who they are.

These people can often be close to us, and know a lot about us. They may appear friendly, but are filled with envy and resentment. They try to put blockages and hindrances to our breakthroughs.

Jesus said love your enemies. Yes, we should, but we also need to watch out for them because of the damage they can do.

King Saul makes a good example of a friendly enemy. He employed David and pretended that he loved him.

Yet, all the while, he was looking for an opportunity kill him. He plotted against David several times, but God frustrated all his plans. (1 Samuel 18:17-30).

It is important to have spiritual discernment, to know who is for us, and who is not. When we know who our friendly enemies are, we can avoid being hurt, disappointed, sold out and having our plans ruined.

Proverbs 24:17-18 Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice, or the Lord will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from them.

Luke 12:2 For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.

Prayer To Expose Friendly Enemies

Dear Lord, I thank You that there is nothing hidden from Your eyes. You are an all knowing God.

You know the hearts of men and you test their intentions. Father, I’m comforted and I feel safe knowing that You see all things and everyone around me.

Hebrews 4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Jeremiah 17:9-10 “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.

Praying for Discernment

Oh Lord, open my eyes to see all friendly enemies in my life and expose any person around me that the enemy is using to gain entry into my life. Grant me spiritual discernment to know and understand their intentions.

Every person who the enemy has positioned in my life to pretend to be friendly, but is working hard to frustrate my plans, expose them, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Oh Lord, expose anyone around me who has evil intentions. Expose their intentions and frustrate their plans and strategies, in the name of Jesus Christ. 

Let all their evil plans against me come to light, oh Lord. Let their plans fail.

2 Timothy 2:7 “Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.”

Genesis 50:20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

Lord, whatever the enemy has meant for evil in my life, turn it for my good, as it is written that all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord.

Abba Father, I refuse to be deceived! Give me the grace and gift of discernment that I may know those that are with me but not for me.

Give me wisdom also Lord, that I may deal with them in love even as I remain cautious, in the name of Jesus Christ.  AMEN.

Proverbs 28:2 “When a country is rebellious, it has many rulers, but a ruler with discernment and knowledge maintains order.”

Philippians 1:10 “so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.”
