Prayer – Lord, How About Me?

“Lord, How About Me?” This was my question to God (a lot of times) in the midst of pain. My pruning season had a huge impact on my mental and emotional health. People who were dear to me had abused me.

I was deeply hurt. I couldn’t stop asking, why did God allow it to happen? He already knew it, but why did He let it happen anyway?

As I sought for answers, I realized that I kept coming back to Him, every time I felt wounded. Everyday, I was crying out to God for help. And, during those times, my fellowship with Him grew even more. Thru my ‘silent’ moments with Him, we got even closer.

Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Giving God My Broken Pieces

I wondered what God can do to the broken pieces of my heart if I gave it to Him? Just because I was bypassed, doesn’t mean I’m not good enough.

People may have treated me like trash, but I’m not a failure. It maybe what I felt when they tried to destroy me, but it is not what God says about who I am.

Instead of asking “God, why me?” I now asked “How can I show love to these people?”, “How can I glorify You, Lord, in this situation?”

Forgiveness is the key!

So how do you turn pain into something beautiful? Forgiveness is the key! Because if you won’t let pain have a purpose, it’ll hurt you more.

Healing begins the moment we surrender all the baggages that hinder us from doing God’s will. The more we hold on to it, the more it gets heavier.

The Bible says that those who are weary and those who carry heavy burden must come to Jesus, for He will give you rest. Rest is very essential to us, for our mind, body and soul.

The biggest blessing in life, is not getting what we want, nor being loved by whom we love, it is God himself. An intimate relationship with God.

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? (Mark 8:36) Even when something is going away, the proof of God’s love is in His pruning.

He Broke All My Plans

Looking back, God must really love me. God must really have a great plan for me. He broke all my plans before they could even totally break me.

He let those things happen to save me from drowning. I needed that pain to refocus on God. It had to happen, so that His grace could overflow. (Romans 5:20b)

I am a living testimony that no matter how painful, no matter how ugly your story may look, God can turn filthy things into something new. I am one of God’s masterpieces!✨

I’m grateful that God hears me. He hears me before I call. He hears my silent, secret frustrations. If I told people what I was feeling, it would scare them, but God isn’t intimidated by what makes me insecure, and He hears me.

And when I call Him, He responds. Truly, the Lord is my hiding place, and in His arms, I feel safe and secure. #MyRedeemerLives!

Prayer – Lord, How About Me?

Seeking Divine Attention in Personal Struggles

Heavenly Father, in the vastness of Your creation and the multitude of Your children, I come before You today, whispering from the depths of my heart, “Lord, how about me?”

In moments of loneliness and in times when my struggles seem unnoticed, remind me that I am never forgotten by You. Your Word assures us that even the hairs on our head are numbered, signaling Your intimate knowledge of and care for us.

Amid my trials, I seek Your face, longing for the assurance that my prayers are heard and my cries reach Your ears. May I feel Your presence more profoundly today, comforting and uplifting my spirit, reminding me of Your unfailing love and attention to every detail of my life.

Psalm 139:17-18 How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—when I awake, I am still with you.
Matthew 10:30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

For Personal Healing And Renewal

Gracious God, in my plea of “how about me?”, I seek not just answers but healing and renewal for my weary soul. Touch every broken place, mend every wound, and restore joy and peace to my heart.

In Your mercy, show me the beauty that can arise from ashes, the growth that springs forth from trials, and the blessings that await beyond this season of pain.

Renew a right spirit within me, Lord, creating a heart that is resilient, joyful, and fully aligned with Your will. May this time of seeking draw me closer to You, transforming my doubts into faith and my worries into worship.

Isaiah 61:3 To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
Psalm 51:10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Gratitude for Divine Presence and Promise

Even as I ask, “Lord, how about me?” I am filled with gratitude for Your presence that never leaves me and Your promises that never fail. Thank You for the assurance that I am seen, known, and loved by You – valued beyond measure and held in Your compassionate hands.

May my life reflect the depth of my gratitude and the strength of my trust in You. Let every day be a testament to Your goodness, grace, and the transformative power of Your love in my life.

Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.
2 Corinthians 1:20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.

Thank You For Not Letting Me Go

I thank You for all the love you have given me and for being my safe place, my refuge and my strength.

Thank you for the joy you have placed in my heart, and thank you for always being there beside me. Thank you for not letting me go. And for always loving me.

Thank you for breaking me, as well, because it pushed me to refocus on You and fulfill my purpose and pursue what you have called me to be. In Jesus name, Amen.

1 Peter 5:6-7 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
