Prayer – Lord, How About Me?
This was my question to God (a lot of times) in the midst of pain. My pruning season had a huge impact on my mental and emotional health. People who were dear to me had abused me.
I was deeply hurt. I couldn’t stop asking, why did God allow it to happen? He already knew it, but why did He let it happen anyway?
As I sought for answers, I realized that I kept coming back to Him, every time I felt wounded.
Everyday, I was crying out to God for help. And, during those times, my fellowship with Him grew even more. Thru my ‘silent’ moments with Him, we got even closer.
Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Giving God My Broken Pieces
I wondered what God can do to the broken pieces of my heart if I gave it to Him? Just because I was bypassed, doesn’t mean I’m not good enough.
People may have treated me like trash, but I’m not a failure. It maybe what I felt when they tried to destroy me, but it is not what God says about who I am.
Instead of asking “God, why me?” I now asked “How can I show love to these people?”, “How can I glorify You, Lord, in this situation?”
Forgiveness is the key!
So how do you turn pain into something beautiful? Forgiveness is the key! Because if you won’t let pain have a purpose, it’ll hurt you more.
Healing begins the moment we surrender all the baggages that hinder us from doing God’s will. The more we hold on to it, the more it gets heavier.
The Bible says that those who are weary and those who carry heavy burden must come to Jesus, for He will give you rest. Rest is very essential to us, for our mind, body and soul.
The biggest blessing in life, is not getting what we want, nor being loved by whom we love, it is God himself. An intimate relationship with God.
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? (Mark 8:36) Even when something is going away, the proof of God’s love is in His pruning.
He Broke All My Plans
Looking back, God must really love me. God must really have a great plan for me. He broke all my plans before they could even totally break me.
He let those things happen to save me from drowning. I needed that pain to refocus on God. It had to happen, so that His grace could overflow. (Romans 5:20b)
I am a living testimony that no matter how painful, no matter how ugly your story may look, God can turn filthy things into something new. I am one of God’s masterpieces!✨
I’m grateful that God hears me. He hears me before I call. He hears my silent, secret frustrations.
If I told people what I was feeling, it would scare them, but God isn’t intimidated by what makes me insecure, and He hears me.
And when I call Him, He responds. Truly, the Lord is my hiding place, and in His arms, I feel safe and secure. #MyRedeemerLives!
Prayer – Lord, How About Me?
Dear God, I am beyond thankful that You are there for me. In the midst of the pain, You never left me.
Thank You for holding my hands and for not giving up on me when I was about to give up. You bring purpose in my life.
Without You, Lord, I can do nothing. I am nothing. Draw me closer to You, oh God. Change me. Heal me. Restore me. Thank You Jesus for Your love.
Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
Father, you say that You are near to the brokenhearted and those who are crushed in spirit. Give me strength, as I continue to follow You, despite the circumstances. Direct my path, Lord, and grant me wisdom.
Psalm 23:1-3 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. The Lord restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
I thank You for all the love you have given me and for being my safe place, my refuge and my strength.
Thank you for the joy you have placed in my heart, and thank you for always being there beside me. Thank you for not letting me go. And for always loving me.
Thank you for breaking me, as well, because it pushed me to refocus on You and fulfill my purpose and pursue what you have called me to be. In Jesus name, Amen.
1 Peter 5:6-7 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
