What is Holy Saturday? Holy Saturday is the name given to the day between Good Friday when Jesus was crucified on the cross and Easter Sunday, when he rose triumphantly from the grave or tomb. Jesus paid the price for our sins.
Heavenly Father, The Lord Jesus before His death, though He was suffering and in excruciating pain, asked of You to forgive His mockers and murderers. What great love must the Lord have, to ask for them to be forgiven though they spat, mocked, stripped and whipped Him and crucified Him to death. What love has Jesus, asking for their forgiveness though they spat, mocked, and crucified him. Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Father, we pray to take this example, and forgive and pray for our enemies, for all those who have hurt and broken us, those who have caused a death in our families and those who have damaged our lives and personalities.
Ephesians 4:31-32 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Though the hurt is deep and its effect everlasting, we pray that we may forgive, the same way Jesus Christ forgave us and set us free from all our sins, the way He was compassionate, merciful and loving in all His pain, shame and suffering.we pray that we may forgive, the same way Jesus Christ forgave us Click To Tweet
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
May His great love for us on the cross be embedded in our hearts and be the greatest memory of our Savior Lord Jesus, who is the Truth, The Way and The Life, now and eternal. Amen!
