Prayer For An Unfaithful Spouse

Lord, I bow down in worship to You. I kneel before You, God, my Maker, bringing my unfaithful spouse before You. I have come to ascribe to You the glory due to Your name. Who have I in heaven but You, Lord? And there is nothing that satisfies besides You.

You are the God who makes beauty out of ashes. You brought order in a disordered earth. You do not change, You do not cease and you do not come to an end.

To your goodness and kindness there is no end. You are a game changer and whoever trusts and believes in your name shall not be put to shame.

Psalms 73:25 Whom have I in heaven but You? And I have no delight or desire on earth besides You.

Romans 10:11 For the scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 

Finding Comfort In The Lord

Oh Lord,  my spouse has been unfaithful, defiling our marriage bed. I have lost my peace and my attitude is beginning to change. 

I am struggling to forgive him/her and sometimes I feel bitter. I pray that You comfort me and help me to understand that You are my peace and complete shalom. 

Teach me to find joy in You, that I may obtain strength to live peacefully with my spouse and to forgive. I pray that this unforgiveness and bitterness in my heart will go away, in the name of Jesus Christ. 

My flesh and my heart may fail, but Lord, You are the strength of my heart. When my heart is weak to forgive, Your strength will be made perfect in my weakness.

Psalms 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart, my portion forever.

Nehemiah 8:10b And be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold.

Lord, I pray that You help me love and submit myself as I am supposed to. Help me to live above my disappointment. 

Create in me a pure and clean heart. Renew within me a steadfast spirit. Help me to always  be ready for Your coming.

Forgive My Spouse

Lord, I pray for my spouse. I ask that you extend your mercy and forgiveness to him/her. Forgive him/her of this sin, and help him/her to forsake it. 

Lord Jesus, you died for my spouse. Your word says that the marriage bed should be honored, and whoever commits adultery will one day receive Your judgement, if they don’t forsake it. 

Hear me out, Lord! Please save my spouse from this sin. May your blood wash him/her and may your spirit sanctify him/her, in the name of Jesus Christ. It is your desire for all people to be saved, so Lord, I offer a prayer for my spouse.

Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is to be honored by all, and husbands and wives must be faithful to each other. God will judge those who are immoral and those who commit adultery.

Deliver My Spouse And Our Marriage

My God, before my spouse was my spouse, s/he was first your creation. Please help my spouse to love and fear you, in the name of Jesus Christ. 

I pray that you deliver him/her from any spirit that is contrary to your will. Every spirit of lust, greed and unfaithfulness in my spouse, let it come out of him/her. Every spirit of adultery, let it break in the name of Jesus Christ.

Lord, you delight in a pure marriage bed, please sanctify our marriage bed again. Remove unfaithfulness, lust, pornography and any form of sexual impurity, in the name of Jesus Christ. 

Make us one again, and may nothing put asunder what You have put together.

Stretch forth your right hand of power, and scatter every spirit dedicated and committed to tearing us apart. 

Break every chain of immorality from our backgrounds. Lift up your sword and destroy every anti-marriage spirit. 

Every spirit fighting against peace in our marriage, may Your mighty hand be raised against it, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Teach Me To Be A Good Spouse

Psalms 25:4-5 Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.

I pray that you teach me to be a good, respectful, loving, and caring spouse to my spouse. Help me to satisfy my spouse in all good things, in the name of Jesus Christ. 

I pray that You unite us again, that our marriage may be a true representation of the marriage of Christ to the church. 

So Lord, may Your will and plan for marriage be fulfilled and honored in our marriage, in Jesus name I pray, Amen!

Ephesians 5:24, 25, 31,32, Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,  “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
