Dear God, as I lay me down to sleep, I release the day that has passed. I ask that You relax every tension in my body, from the tightness in my shoulders to the heaviness in my heart. You are the Architect of rest, and I ask for Your supernatural peace to settle over me now.
Lord, calm the restlessness of my mind. Still the thoughts which worry and perplex me. Worrying cannot add a single hour to my life or solve a single problem. So, Lord, help me to rest myself and all my problems in your strong and loving arms.
Psalm 4:8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.
1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
And, while I sleep, I invite Your Holy Spirit to minister to my deep heart and mind. Guard my dreams and quiet my soul. I pray that during these hours of stillness, You would prepare me for the dawn. When I wake, let me find that You have planted within me:
light for my way;
strength for my tasks;
peace for my worries;
forgiveness for my sins.
Grant me deep, restorative sleep tonight, and clothe me tomorrow with the power to live fully for Your glory. In Jesus Holy Name, Amen!
Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Psalm 121:3–4 reminds us that “He who watches over you will not slumber.” While you are resting, God is working. You can sleep in confidence because the One who holds your future never gets tired and never stops caring for the details of your life.
Bedtime Declaration Before Sleep
I am laying down my heavy thoughts and picking up His perfect peace. My bed is a place of restoration, not a place of worry. I trust that while I sleep, the Holy Spirit is preparing my heart for the victories of tomorrow. Amen.
