A Prayer in Times of Decision-Making

I wrote this prayer while I was away on holiday, reflecting on the blessings of God, through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. When time and the pressures of life seem to get in the way of leading a life of peace, calm and tranquility, reflecting on the fellowship of the Holy Spirit in all I do. I pray you too are blessed by this prayer.

Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”

Heavenly Father, We come before You and place our deepest and heartfelt desires at Your feet. We have a decision to make and we want it to be in Your best interest, according to Your will and plans for our life. We pray for guidance for the best choices in life, through all the blessings You bestow, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Philippians 4:6 – 7
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”

Lord Jesus Christ, counselor of all who come for Your aid and seek Your guidance, help us to focus on the cross we are to carry in our lives through all blessings, through all goodness, and through all difficulties and trials. In all our decisions, may our hearts be not hardened to receive Your word and may our eyes not be blinded to see the truth and obedience to Your will. We pray that the word of God and prayer be our tool and armor in all aspects of living, in our decisions and in choices we make daily in our lives.

Proverbs 11:14
“Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.

As we make our decision, may Your presence Lord, fill our hearts and mind that we may, in whatever state of our lives, be guided in love, to go in sharing, caring and loving in discipleship with one another. In Your perfect guidance and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, we believe we will not fall and we will be strong to stand against all attacks of evil, in times when things of the world stand in between our choices for a way of life pleasing in Your sight.

1 Corinthians 10:31
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God”

Today, as we come with a decision to make, help us make it with thoughts, not only to benefit ourselves but to benefit all around us and to give You utmost Glory in all things. May our sole focus be to live a life benefiting people who look upon us in hope, who feel loved in the little things we do and in the blessings we share with others, in the simplest of our words and deeds.
Lord Jesus, we earnestly pray that we may never become proud and self-contented to think only of our own wants and desires. Help us make our decisions in the best interest of ourselves together with family and those who count on us and those who can’t make a living without us.  Help us, we pray, to open our hearts and minds, to be a blessing to one who is in need, a channel of Your peace and love to one who is in distress, and a light of hope for someone who is condemned. Last, but not least, we pray for the spirit of wisdom and discernment to guide our thoughts as we make our decisions. AMEN!
