Prayer: The Lord Is My Awesome Helper

Are you finding yourself in a position where nobody is there to support you? Maybe you are battling rejection, depression, loneliness, pain of the past or the feeling of unworthiness. You are all alone. You have no helper.

Like the man who had been laying with infirmity at the pool of Bethesda for thirty eight years, you realize that you have no man to lift you up.

John 5:5-7 Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

No Connections?

You say to yourself “I have no one to help me”, “I don’t have any connections”.  Or: “I know no one to help me”.

Just like the man at the pool, you don’t know that the Lord, in whose presence you are, is an awesome helper of men.

He can help you every step of the way. When your strength fails you, when you can’t carry on anymore and when you are ready to give up all that makes you who you are, He will always help you.

Isaiah 41:10,13 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’  For I, the Lord, Your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’

The Lord says in Jeremiah 29:13 “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”

Let Us Pray

My gracious Father, I’m eternally grateful to You for reconciling me to Yourself through Christ by not counting my sins and trespasses but cancelling them ( 2 Corinthians 5:18-21).

So now, I come boldly before your throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in times of need (Hebrew 4:16).

Receiving Forgiveness

Thank You, Father, for forgiving me through Christ and purging my conscience from dead works (Hebrew 9:14) and guilt. I receive my forgiveness now.

Oh Lord, I feel helpless and out of control. I feel forsaken, alone, deserted, lonely, unloved, unworthy and weak. There is no one to help me.  I have no one to pull me through. Even my own strength and wisdom has failed me.

But, I look to You. From where does my help come from? My help comes from You Lord. Only You can help me, Father.

If you don’t help me, no one will. If you don’t deliver me, no one will. If you don’t hold my hand, no man will, oh God.

If you don’t save my marriage, no one will, dear Lord. If you don’t heal my child, no one will.

Psalms 3:3 But you, O LORD, are a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

Helper of Men

Please help me. You are the helper of man. You are my glory and the lifter up of my head.

You care about every detail of my life including the number of hair on my head. What more about my lack, debt, joblessness and loneliness. I trust in You, Oh Lord. I have faith that You are coming through for me, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

Psalms 50:15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”

Psalms 34:5 They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed.
