Apostle Peter admonishes us to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God. Humbling ourselves under God’s hand means completely surrendering, allowing God to be God, by obeying Him and trusting Him even when we don’t understand.

The highest level of humility is trusting God. Yes. When you trust God even when you don’t understand, you are saying: “God, I’m not as wise as You are. I don’t know as much as You do. You are God, and I am only a human being”.

1 Peter 5:6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.

This is humility. Trusting God is humility. Just like a little child trusts his mother in every circumstance, God wants us just to do the same.

When a child is scared of the dark, and he can’t see his mother, he still cries out to his mother, looking for her presence.

Let Us Pray

Gracious Heavenly Father, today I seek to retrace my steps back into Your loving embrace. I confess that there have been times when I relied on my own understanding and attempted to resolve issues on my own, only to fail miserably.

I didn’t allow You to be God in my life, but rather tried to assist You. Please, Father, forgive me.

I tried to solve things by myself and I failed terribly. I did not allow You to be God, but I tried to help You. Father, please forgive me.

Isaiah 12:2 Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense. He has become my salvation.

Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Surrendering Our Hearts and Lives

Oh Lord, today, I wholeheartedly surrender to You. I humbly come before Your throne, acknowledging You as my Lord, my King, and the ruler of my heart and life.

I invite You to take control and do what only You can do in my life. I submit myself to Your will and Your plans, knowing that when I surrender to You, I find true freedom and peace.

My God, Your ways and thoughts are higher than mine. In humility and trust, I yield my life to Your loving guidance. Teach me to walk in Your wisdom, knowing that when I trust in You, You will direct my steps and lead me in the path of righteousness.

Galatians 2:20 – I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Romans 12:1 – I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

A Prayer of Commitment and Trust

Heavenly Father, I commit my life and my thoughts to You, asking for Your strength and wisdom as I seek to overcome my self-reliance and learn to trust You more fully.

Help me to walk in the truth of Your Word and to stand firm in the victory that You have won for me through Christ. May my life be a testimony to Your love, Your power, and Your faithfulness, as I trust in You and Your promises.

Father, I thank You for Your endless love, grace, and mercy. I am grateful for Your unwavering guidance as I surrender to You with humble trust.

Continue to mold me and shape me into the person You desire me to be. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, my Savior and Redeemer, I pray. Amen.

Isaiah 55:8-9 – “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

Psalm 32:8 – I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
