Prayer: Lord, I Surrender in Humble Trust

Prayer: Lord, I Surrender in Humble Trust

1 Peter 5:6. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.

Apostle Peter admonishes us to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God. Humbling ourselves under God’s hand means completely allowing God to be God by obeying Him and trusting Him when we don’t understand.

The highest level of humility is trusting God. Yes. When you trust God even when you don’t understand, you are saying: “God, I’m not as wise as You are. I don’t know as much as You do. You are God, and I am only a human being”.

This is humility. Trusting God is humility. Just like a little child trusts his mother in every circumstance, God wants us just to do the same.

When a child is scared of the dark, and he can’t see his mother, he still cries out to his mother, looking for her presence.

Let Us Pray

Dear Lord, today I just want to retrace my path back to your arms. Many times, I tried to lean on my own understanding.

I tried to solve things by myself and I failed terribly. I did not allow You to be God, but I tried to help You. Father, please forgive me.

Isaiah 12:2. Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense. He has become my salvation.

Today, I give You my all. I humble myself before You. Be God over me, be magnified, be King and reign in my heart and life. Come and do what only You can do.

I surrender myself to You. You said that my ways are not Your ways, and my thoughts not Your thoughts. Lord I surrender in humble trust before You.

Isaiah 55:8-9. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

Guard me, and keep me in perfect peace as I trust in You. Give me grace to still trust in You when I do not understand.

I humble myself under Your mighty hand, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Isaiah 26:3. You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.
