Prayer: The Enemy Is Defeated!

Some people live their lives in fear of what the enemy might do. They fear that the devil can do anything he pleases in their lives, or that the enemy will defeat them.

As a believer in Christ, you need to understand that the enemy is defeated, by the power of the Holy Spirit working in you. Wherever you go, walk in this confidence, that you carry victory inside you, because the Lord God, who lives in you, is a victor.

You are a believer of Christ, and the Spirit of the Living God dwells within you.

Psalm 31: 13-16 – For I hear many whispering,“Terror on every side!” They conspire against me, and plot to take my life. But I trust in you Lord; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me. Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love.

1 John 4:4 – You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world

You Have Overcome

The Bible says, you have overcome, because the one in you is greater than the one in the world who is fighting you. The one in you is a mighty man of war. The one in you is great in battle. He is an Overcomer, and so you have overcome!

And how awesome to know that even with God within us, He says that the battle is His!! We only need to have faith in Him, and He will do the rest.

2 Chronicles 20:15 Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”

And verse 17 continues. “You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you…”

Do Not Fear, The Enemy Is Defeated

At every point in your life, you will face battles, but the Lord commands you to not fear the enemy. The enemy may manifest himself in the form of bad health, sleeplessness, divorce, night attacks, joblessness.

When the Lord says do not be afraid, He wants you to fix your gaze on Him, regardless of your battle. It does not matter which area of your life is going downhill, today, The Lord says the battle is not yours, it is his. Hold your peace.

James 4:7 Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

As we look upon the Lord who is the owner of every battle in our lives, let us also submit to and subject ourselves under Him, and obey Him.

We cannot resist the devil when we are disobedient. And if we can’t resist him, then he will always have business to do in our lives. So let us go out there and live in the light of God.

Deuteronomy 28:7 – The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.

Ephesians 6:12 – For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Let Us Pray: Prayer – The Enemy Is Defeated!

Heavenly Father, I come to you feeling so defeated. The debts are spiraling out of control. Hurt and anger abound. The report of the doctor is not good. Everything seems to be going all wrong.

Oh Lord, I release all from my life that has been holding me back from serving you fully. I release all unforgiveness, all anger, all hurt, and malice.

Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,” Luke 10:27.

And so Lord, I surrender all to you. Search my heart. Reveal any stumbling blocks I am holding on to. Holy Spirit, soften my heart to obey your word.

Romans 16:20 – The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.

John 10:10 – The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Oh Lord, I submit to your word, your will, and your purpose for my life. Please give me the strength to completely resist the devil, so he will flee from me, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

My Father, give me faith. Help me to believe and hold onto this truth from today onwards. Thank you for being supreme over the enemy of our lives, disarming and defeating him by the power of the cross.

Now I rest assured, knowing that I will not need to fight, even in all the battles in my life. The battle is already won. I will hold my peace, and position myself to see your salvation. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen.

John 16:33 – I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

James 4:7 – Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
