Just To Say: Thank You Lord!

So the work week begun and by lunchtime on Monday I was exasperated to say the least. The rollercoaster ride had reached my department and desk. Needless to say, with all the commotion and the rain (which meant traffic), I got home a whole lot later than I would have wished to.

I had some time, before my final leg of the journey home, and decided to read my Bible. I read 2 Timothy Chapter 2 and part of one verse stood out, verse 19 says:

2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness.

In that moment all I wanted to do was to say: Thank You Lord. I felt so grateful to know that God is unshaken and He knows who belongs to Him. I knew that everything was going to be okay.

Taking the opportunity to examine my day closer, the more I looked, the more I had to say: Thank you Lord.

Thanks For Even The Small Things

He woke me up – I breathed life for another day; had a warm bath; dressed myself; I had transport to get to my taxi stop; had money in my pocket; had a job to go to; breakfast to eat, and so much more.

Yes, I know they’re not the ‘big’ or exciting things, but as I sat there I thought – what if I didn’t have these things today, these simple, taken for granted things.

So the next time you feel the rollercoaster ride coming close to your doorsteps, take a breath. Remember that God’s life-giving Spirit is in you and He has your life in His hands and with Him your worse day is still so much better.

Remind yourself by looking closer and saying: Thank you Lord for every good thing – big and small. For the things He’s done, be like the one leper who thought it necessary to say thank you (Luke 17: 11-16).

And just in case the rollercoaster has gotten to you and you can’t find the courage to look closer or you have become overwhelmed at the circumstance – I want to leave you with this scripture:

1st Thessalonians 5: 18 (says) – Thank God in everything. No matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks. For this is the will of God for you who are in Christ Jesus, the Revealer and Mediator of that will.

Let Us Pray

A Grateful Heart

Dear Heavenly Father, how often I come before You with requests, with pleas, with tears, and with burdens. Today is different. Today, I come with nothing but a heart filled with gratitude. In the midst of life’s challenges and blessings, I want to pause and just say: “Thank You, Lord.”

For every sunrise that signals Your faithfulness, for every breath that reminds me of the life You’ve given, I am profoundly grateful.

Often, I am so consumed by the demands of life and the clamor of my needs that I forget to express my gratitude for Your unceasing love and provisions.

In the grand tapestry of my life, where every thread represents Your grace and every color embodies Your blessings, I want to acknowledge that everything good I have is because of You.

James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Psalm 107:1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.

For Unseen Blessings

Lord, I recognize that there are countless blessings I take for granted every day -blessings that go unseen and unnoticed. The protection from harm as I commute, the unseen battles You fight on my behalf, and the moments of serendipity that bring unexpected joy.

I thank You for the invisible shield that You place around me, guarding me from dangers I am not even aware of.

The whispers of guidance when I’m about to make a decision, the nudges when I’m veering off the path You’ve set for me, and the silent reinforcements of strength during my weakest moments – thank You for these unseen blessings. They are profound reminders that You are always working behind the scenes in my life.

Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Psalm 91:11: For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.

For Love That Never Ends

Father, when I reflect upon my life, I see the imprints of Your enduring love everywhere. In moments of rebellion, Your love pursued me; in times of brokenness, Your love healed me.

The relationships and friendships that sustain me, the unexpected words of kindness from a stranger, or the tight embrace of a loved one – each one is a manifestation of Your love.

Even when I faltered, when my faith wavered, and when I chose paths that distanced me from You, Your love remained steadfast. You waited with open arms, ready to welcome me back. For this relentless, all-encompassing love that I neither earned nor deserved, I simply want to say, “Thank You, Lord.”

Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Chronicles 16:34 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.

For The Gift Of Jesus

Above all, Lord, I thank You for the incomparable gift of Jesus Christ. In Him, I find salvation, grace, and the promise of eternal life. He is the embodiment of Your love for humanity – a beacon of hope, a refuge for the weary, and the redeemer of souls.

His sacrifice on the cross is a testament to the depths of Your love for me. In every act of kindness He showed, in every word of wisdom He shared, and ultimately in His sacrificial death and triumphant resurrection, Jesus showcased the magnitude of Your love and grace.

It’s a gift so profound, so life-altering that all I can say, with tears in my eyes and gratitude in my heart, is “Thank You.”

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

Thank You For Your Grace

Grant me grace to walk, more and more, in YOUR will and not my own. Forgive me for not thanking YOU as often as I should.

And forgive me for sometimes taking for granted what I possess, as there are those who don’t experience YOUR sweet embrace, and have never experienced the joy and freedom found in YOUR presence.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us all. In Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen and Amen.

  1. I am asking prayer that God will draw my oldest brother closer to Him. He has been drinking constantly and stressing hard. I don’t know why his wife hasn’t taken him to go get help. I have express to my brother I need him to get in AAA classes and even seek therapy. I don’t wanna lose him and he does have two girls in college. I pray that God would heal him from whatever is causing him to drink in Jesus Name. I pray he will go get a check up and start taking better care of himself in Jesus Name. I pray he will get his relationship with God back in order and talk with God about all his issues. I just got off the phone with him telling him talk with God. I pray he wakes up and things begin to change in Jesus Name. I don’t have nothing against his wife but it’s like she’s not concern with him drinking himself like this and I wonder why or what is doing. God please help my older brother because I wanna see him come on out of this way of living in Jesus Name Amen.
