God and Giving

A few weeks ago, God told me to go to a particular store to buy a couple of birthday gifts for a friend of mine. I had no idea what He wanted me to get.

But I was telling God I was not ready to shop. I didn’t really want, nor cared, to shop for this person.

Well, I was tested. So I shopped in the Spirit, with the budget He gave me. But I didn’t count the pennies, as I’ve learned not to count pennies when it comes to God.

Deuteronomy 15:10 You shall surely give him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him. Because that for this thing, the LORD your God shall bless you in all your works, and in all that you put your hand to.

Malachi 3:10 Bring you all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in my house, and prove me now herewith, said the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Blessings returned

About a month later, I was volunteered by my boss to attend a night conference, in a city some 75 km away.

When I arrived, I noticed there were about 30 door prizes. I casually said to God that I am winning 1 of those, in Jesus’s name, amen. And “thank you, Jesus” I added, not really thinking anything of it.

During the draw, the very last ticket called was mine. It was a gift card to the store where I had shopped for my friend’s gift.

2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Luke 3:11 He answers and said to them, He that has two coats, let him impart to him that has none; and he that has meat, let him do likewise.

Allow yourself to be tested

Allow yourself to be tested in giving and it will be given right back unto you. Amen. Like so many of you, I have been down to my last dollar and sometimes I had only pennies left.

Like Jesus with 5 loaves and 2 fishes, I have been able to feed my friends a Sunday dinner with $5.00 in my wallet. I shopped by faith, by putting Jesus first in my mind and calling out to Him to provide. He has never ever disappointed.

Today, I am praying for prosperity in your lives as God wants you to prosper through Him. But you must be ready to start giving to receive your blessings.

Finally, ask Jesus to teach you how He wants you to handle your finances and He will. After all, He is the greatest teacher there is and the source of all things. Amen.

Proverbs 28:27 He that gives to the poor shall not lack. But he that hides his eyes shall have many a curse.

2 Corinthians 9:10 Now he that ministers seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness. 😉

  1. Ebrahim, I have just seen this post of yours and pray by this time your Holy Father has worked on your Wife’s heart and shown her how much heartache she will cause if she follows through with her actions. If you are able please contact ChristiansTT and let us know how you and your children are doing. Dear Lord, I believe You will move to save and strengthen this marriage and I ask in the name of Jesus that You will do whatever it takes to protect and defend this marriage and the children mentioned here. In Your Mighty Holy Name Dear Jesus I ask You this. Amen.

  2. My wife is leaving our marriage to be free go clubing etc with friends after being on police college. We have two kids. I need prayer for my wife to open her eyes and see what she is doing is wrong. I still love her and want to save our marriage in Jesus’ name and I want her to see these friends are a bad influence.

    Almighty Father
I thank You abundantly for Your blessings
I believe You will provide in right timing.
May we have a heart blessed in giving
To give those less unfortunate as much as we prosper in living.
    Amen!
