I must admit that God has truly blessed me with some wonderful faithful friends. Friends who stick to your side through thick or thin. Friends who will not allow you to fail, no matter what comes your way.

They really demonstrate the power of friendship. For a while, I have been going through some difficulty at work. I felt that I went there to learn a certain aspect of the job.

Yet, many months have passed and I have not learnt much because no training has been taking place. I have also felt some tension. Yet, no matter how I try to understand and not add to it, the issues still abound.

Prayer Changes People And Situations

Today I had a moment where I thanked God that He has given me a better temperament to handle sticky situations. (I will admit this isn’t the easiest of things for me to deal with). I walked away from the difficulty and refused to allow it to dictate my response. Yet, I needed to vent.

So I conversed with a good friend of mine who has been going through the same things. I really was at the point of being totally disgusted with the person’s attitude. But my friend, like the daughter of Christ she is, reminded me of our position in Christ and that He has called us to be the light and the salt of the earth.

She encouraged me to pray for the situation and the person. She also advised me that it was prayer that had brought about the change in the person who was being difficult at work with her.

It was a hard pill to swallow. But it was the Word coming straight from the Lord that I needed to pay attention to.

After reflecting on what she said, I decided that, as difficult as it is, I will pray. I will ask God to bring a change in the person, so that the person can be a better boss and become more personable and so positively affect the department.

I Thanked Her For Her Timely Advice.

I really thanked God that she was there, at the right time, to say a word of wisdom from heaven. This word brought about the necessary attitude adjustment in me to see it from that point of view. Now I did not feel like the victim in the situation.

A man of many companions may come to ruin but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Pro 18:24

After this decision, the Holy Spirit brought the account in the Bible of the four friends who broke open the roof of the man’s house that Jesus was in. Their friend was sick and they believed that Jesus would heal the friend (Mark 2).

The Right Friendships

I really think Jesus was impressed with their commitment to this friendship to a guy who was obviously very ill. It’s necessary to have these kinds of friendships in your life and for you to prove yourself a friend like this.

As you look into your life, do you see only people who are taking but not putting back into your life? Or friends that are leading you away from the Lord?

Then you need to distance yourself from those friends. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into the right friendships. Friendships with people who can build you up and be a blessing to you, as you are to them.

Today make a commitment to become a friend like this and let the Holy Spirit bring friends like this into your life, Amen.

  3. I have a problem accepting Luke 6 31. naturally, it would be a LUKEISM. He was a doctor and following this one is a medical ‘gimme’ when psychologically your wondering why your bully doesn’t follow the same understanding in diplomatic co-existence. For instance, ISIS members and their behavior. If our nation (USA) had a provision in our Constitution to temporarily accept a Faith to combat a non-uniformed, oligarchical terror based faith like Mohammed made clear to ‘certain’ followers not concerned about our faiths book of Revelation and what the ‘angel’ told John of Patmos about ‘changing’ what Jesus said. (Some believe it was Jesus himself like when he met Saul on the roadway and changed his name to Paul…heh heh.)

I digress, let’s face it, it could be so easy if we had a ‘Christian’ Faith based guide in D.C. the way the Muslim Clerics control Iran & its people, we could simply apply our LUKEISM on I.S.I.S. and behead, burn in cages, and putting them to the sword as King David and King Herod handled it. Christ died for ‘EVERYONE.’ Gentiles and infidels? Are Infidels Gentiles. Jealousy is common to both when knowing that to one faith (Christianity) a perfect human was sacrificed without reservation for all chosen by Him and His ‘DAD’ before the creation of the world and as each of the (Muslim’s) faiths infidels as they are sacrificed by holier than thou bullies who refuse to know Christ as ‘THEIR SAVIOR.’ These ‘holier than thous’ today best urge the true Muslims who have learned compassion by ‘THE HOLY SPIRIT’ and choose to live amongst us Christians in peace.

  5. Dearest Lord, We Love and Praise Your Gracious name and humbly ask that You would send along some true, upstanding, Christian Friendships for Damilola, trustworthy people who she will bond in Christ with and who would share her good times as well as her sad times. Please bless her new Friendships Father God and keep them strong and lasting so Damilola would never again be lonely. We know we do not need lots of friends to be happy Father as Jesus Himself had only 12 but You made us social beings Lord so our need for friendships You Yourself created, Please bless Damilola with some Friends with whom she/he can share good rapport, harmony and Christian closeness. In the name of the risen Christ Father, please hear our prayer. Amen. ( I am sure the good Lord will send you along some compassionate friends soon ) Yvonne Miller.

  6. What a blessing it is to have a friend who’s so grounded in Christ! I, unfortunately find myself being the giver in most of my relationships. I would love to have friends but I only seem to have friends who last for a season then are gone. I mean friendships forged based on proximity. Please pray with me that God sends me a good friend like yours.
