At times, it is difficult to navigate the course of this life. Sometimes you think you actually understand the place where life is calling you to be. But at other moments, you really wonder and question your purpose here.
It’s so much easier to look at life and smile when things are going okay enough. And it’s even better when they are going great and things are actually going your way and you can ‘see the light at the end of the tunnel’.
The faith of the sower
Life isn’t always like that though. To reap the harvest, you have to sow the seed. According to my very wise Pastor, a farmer really sows in faith, and he is so true.
When a farmer has a vision, he buys land and takes all his money or gets a loan and buys seed he believes is good. Then he plants the entire land. This takes a lot of faith.
It takes faith to believe the crop will come up and it will bring forth the kind of harvest he envisioned.
He risks his life on his dream because that’s how far one must go sometimes to see dreams come true. If he were to think about all the reasons the harvest wouldn’t come forth, then he would not spend all that money or invest his time and effort into it.
There’s a Season for it all
In the same way, life is very much like a farmer sowing seed. There’s a season to obtain a vision (even the Bible says without a vision people perish). There’s a season to find the proper planting land (to life, this may be your education, your job, business, investments, talents, skills etc). Then you must acquire and sow the right seed.
You know what, that’s only part (there is no benefit yet), and yes that’s the hard part right! You have to nurture and take care of the seed while it grows up to give you your harvest.
It can’t possibly be easy. I’m certain if it was, then this world would be a much better place to live in. Because everyone would take the time to do the right thing. We are so anxious and impatient sometimes that we expect the harvest to come right away.
Today, I encourage you to remember there is a time and place under the sun for everything. Find out what season you are in and enjoy the fact that you are on your way.
Yes, it’s hard sometimes. But God has placed eternity in the hearts of men and that means you can walk through each season of your life.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy], yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.”
Don’t be discouraged today. As the beautiful song says ‘Walk into your season’. May the strength of our Lord Jesus Christ flood your heart and soul with high expectations for your seed to become a great harvest, Amen.
