It’s been a strange week weather-wise. The day often starts off with brilliant sunshine and you think to yourself – it’s gonna be a bright, bright, sun shiny day (I Can See Clearly Now – Johnny Nash).
By lunchtime, just about the time you’re thinking you can afford to run some errands or just to take a break from the office atmosphere, you look outside only to realize you can’t possibly go out or if you must go out, chances are you’re going to get wet. Yesterday was no different, and when the rains came – boy did it fall!!!
On my way home, I sat at a window seat and looked out at the grim cloudy sky. The place was cold and wet, and I wished I was already home.
I closed my eyes for a while then suddenly I felt such warmth on my face.
I opened my eyes and beheld the most wonderful sight. The sun had broken through all those dark gloomy clouds and its warmth flooded as far as my eyes could see.
I put my face up to the window. The warmth was captivating.
Before long there was no more darkness – just light. All the dark clouds were gone, and the light made everything glisten.
Our Heavenly Father is like the sun
As I sat there enjoying this warmth, the Holy Spirit whispered to me that Our Heavenly Father is much like the sun when He comes into our lives.
I thought about it for a while, and the more I mulled it over, the more realistic His words became to me. His Word confirms it:
Psalm 104:1 Praise the Lord, my soul. Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty.
2 Samuel 22:29-31 (MSG) Suddenly, God, your light floods my path, God drives out the darkness. I smash the bands of marauders, I vault the high fences. What a God! His road stretches straight and smooth. Every God-direction is road-tested. Everyone who runs toward him makes it.
When God comes on the scene, He illuminates everything around Him. Nothing is hid from His marvelous light.
There is no darkness, no sickness, no disease, no hurt, no pain, no financial situation, no family issue, and no emotional stress that can hide when His light shines on it.
As His Word confirms, if you run towards Him, He will suddenly flood your path with light. Run to Him today. May the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all, Amen.
