Devotional – His Refreshing Every morning

There are days when morning turns into evening and you’re not aware because of how many things you are doing.

No Time For Yourself?

Many of us are working parents. Working and going to school. Taking care of sick parents or children. We may have very important jobs that take up most of our day and night.

Some of us have more than one jobs. And, if that’s not enough, most of us come home to the cooking, cleaning, homework, bringing work home and all the other little necessities that take your entire day.

We then drop into to bed and before you know it the alarm starts making that awful noise that says ‘Hey there, wake up, you’ve got to do it all over again’!

The Most Beautiful Sound

This morning, I woke up to the most beautiful sound. This morning, I had time to notice it (I am sure it happens each morning). There was a bird on a tree on the right side of the house and it was singing the most beautiful song.

I listened and thought this bird is doing what God created it to do. He’s singing his praises to his maker – The Lord!

Immediately, this song ‘Praises to your name’ by Jentezen Franklin came to my mind. I located it and allowed it to play. It just filled my soul.

This is what we should do every morning. But many of us (including me) don’t get this opportunity, as life gets to us before this moment could come.

Are you Overwhelmed by Life?

If your soul has been overwhelmed by life this week, and you’re tired, frustrated and don’t know how you will face another day like this, then do what Matthew 11:28 says:

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]

and Acts 3:19

So repent (change your mind and purpose). Turn around and return to God, that your sins may be erased, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;

For in coming to God, He ”….. will fully satisfy the weary soul, and I will replenish every languishing and sorrowful person.” Jeremiah 31:25.

As you do your morning/evening reflections, spend time with God, so His life-giving Spirit can refresh your weary soul to face another day.

May the God who is able to do all things continue to stand by your side! Amen.
