There are days when you feel you’re on top of the world and everything is going just right in your life. Those are the days you smile the most, you laugh the most, and you feel that there is nothing you cannot achieve.
But there are those days when you feel the entire world, and then some, is against you. Nothing you do seems to work out, right to the point where you are ready to admit you’ve made a mistake and go back to your previous moment of ‘this is right for me’.
Lately I’ve been having this struggle, and I confess it hasn’t been an easy road. I feel like if my life has been turned upside down and I’m reeling from its effects. Although it is one area of my life, somehow it’s affecting the whole of me.
To be honest, I was almost at the point of walking away – I really don’t need the combination of stress – and it is stressful. But I was so sure God sent me that I had to question my own emotions and heart to the point where I had to call upon the faithfulness of a few good friends to pray me through one of these days.
I’m grateful for the great people God has placed in my life. Somehow when you’re not ready, or willing, to listen to God, He fills their hearts with the strength you need and with what you’re going through so that you can know that He has not left your side.
Psalms 139:16 says “ Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them.”
Psalms 103:6-18 says “God makes everything come out right; … God is sheer mercy and grace…As high as heaven is over the earth so strong is his love to those who fear him. And as far as sunrise is from sunset, he has separated us from our sins. As parents feel for their children, God feels for those who fear him…He knows us inside and out, God’s love, though, is ever and always, eternally present to all who fear him, Making everything right for them and their children as they follow his Covenant ways and remember to do whatever he said.”
Today I encourage you, as I encourage myself, to keep trusting in God to walk you through everything He needs for you to go through and to have faith in Him to know that your days are already planned out and nothing surprises Him and He has prepared ahead of time for it, to your benefit.
May God’s unmerited grace and favor fill our hearts and flood our souls with all that we need to face the day, Amen.
