Philippians 2: 1 – 4 Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate?

Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others.

Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too

The above verse states: Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. This seems strange as opposed to the world’s view of looking out for the interest of number one (yourself).

The world has taught us that if we want to get ahead in life, look out for yourself only. Step on as many as is required for you to reach on the top of the corporate ladder.

Our Heavenly Father has another idea in mind. Instead, we are told to look out for others, loving others and thinking of them as better than ourselves. Even take an interest in their lives too.

A friend once said to me, she’s glad she could listen to me speak about a problem I was having. Although she was facing difficulties too, she said it allowed her to focus on something other than her problems.

Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves. Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

Take Time to Reach Out

Today, as you go about your busy life, remember that there are people around you who need you. Be that helping hand. Give that smile. Say that good morning. Take time to reach out to someone and make the difference.

Go about your everyday activities with others in mind, knowing that as you do good to them, Your Father which is in Heaven who sees secretly will reward you openly.

Have a blessed and prosperous day!
