Waiting on God to give you a Go Signal ?
“Only Small Children and Servants need to be constantly told what to do.” – Brook Potter
Imagine you have a young child, who has the responsibility to take out the garbage every time the trash is full. Every few days, you need to remind them to take out the trash and upon your reminder they go and do what you have asked. Then suddenly one day, you come home, and find that the trash has already been taken out, without you having to utter a word of reminder. That is the day when your young child has matured in that area and you can start getting teary eyed over how quickly they grow up.
Most believers are waiting on God to give them a Go Signal of some kind before they do the work of the ministry. The truth is God has already given us a Go Signal in the scriptures to Go, Preach, Heal and make Disciples. Everything in the New Testament is focused on Go, Seek, Knock, Find and Do. Maturity and Growth does not happen by studying, it happens when you start doing the Work (Hebrews 5:14).
John 7:17 If any man will do his [God’s] will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
Believers think we must know the Doctrines First and then do the work. The only person who benefits as we wait in endless study and preparing, is Satan. While the church is waiting on God to do something new, God is in fact waiting on us to use all that he has given us to influence the world around us and bring Change. New covenant Christianity has always been a hands-on and boots on the ground training exercise. The Disciples were in full time Ministry at the start, even Judas who, as far as we know, never truly believed.
I do not deny there are somethings that you need to wait for in this life, but when it comes to the basics of healing the sick, casting out devils, raising the dead and preaching the Gospel, the time is always Now (2 Corinthians 6:2). If we just do what the scriptures say, we will always be in the Will of God, with a leading or without. We are Mature Sons of God, when we can walk by faith and do all the good that we see in our hearts, based on knowing the Father’s Will, and doing it without a leading.
