Breaking the Cycle of Defeat
How many of us have been going around in circles all our life, looking for change but yet caught up in a cycle of defeat? The real question we should ask ourselves is: “What am I doing to have meaningful change in my life?” The answer is to stop doing the same negative things over and over because if we continue doing the same things over and over, we cannot expect a different result, or positive change, in our lives.
Being a child of God is a Way of Life, Christianity is also a Way of Life!!
We got to train ourselves to be holy and righteous; it’s all about discipline… Some of us confuse our own selves by our contradictory actions. We claim we are Christians but yet we drink, smoke, engage in marital infidelity, use obscene language, indulged in adult videos, etc… and on Sunday morning we are saints.
1 Peter 1:14-16 (NIV) 14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
My friends, we need to take a look of ourselves and ask the question if today i take my last breath where will my soul end up, heaven or hell? Fellow Saints of God, to stop this cycle we also need to block every fiery dart that Satan sends towards us. We do this by reading the word of God and having the Faith that God is there with us in times of our trouble. Remember when Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness, Jesus replied with the word of God and Satan fled.
There are three important ways to Break this cycle:
- Determine our Destination Spiritually
In other words never be content where you are spiritually; always push for more because there is so much that Jesus can offer us!
2. Change your Direction
If you need guidance on the road that you are walking in, ask the Pastor, Teachers or Elders of the church how to get back on track.
3. Understand the Duration/ Times it takes
There is an appointed time for God to open doors for us to receive our blessings because if we get it too soon, we will definitely make a mess out of it.
