Father’s Day Prayer – A Salute to Fathers

Almighty God, as we observe Father’s Day, I lift up all the fathers of our nation to You with adoration and love. Fathers play an integral role in the lives of our children, as mentors, providers, caregivers and so much more and also provide a firm foundation on which our children stand.

Thank You, Jehovah Jireh, for Your provision and for showering them with Your divine blessings. I pray that You would consecrate fathers and set them apart for Your purpose.

Grant them peace and unity, health and strength, joy and happiness throughout their lives. May they walk with integrity, uprightly with You, in steadfastness and humility.

Joshua 1:9 – Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Psalm 68:5-6 – A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation. God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

The Pillars Of The Family On Father’s Day

Oh God, I acknowledge fathers as the pillars of the family, shouldering the weight of providing and caring for their loved ones. Grant them Your wisdom to lead their families with love, integrity, and honor. May they embody the values of humility, kindness, and patience as they carry out their roles.

Guide them, Oh Lord, as they strive to establish a home that is nurturing and filled with Your presence. Equip them with the strength and courage they need to overcome the challenges they face daily.

Deuteronomy 1:29-31 Then I said to you, ‘Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the wilderness. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.’

Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

For Single Fathers and Step-fathers

For the men who have not had the privilege of being biological fathers, I salute them for making the sacrifice.

I honor them for the patience and devotion they demonstrate in caring for and helping to shape our children’s character, which would greatly impact their lives in the future.

For the single fathers and those who lack resources but are still trying their best to cope with their situations, I ask for continued favor as they strive to show their commitment and dedication towards their children.

Psalm 103:13 – As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him.

Psalm 139:23-24 – Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Praying for the non-Christian Father

For those who are unaware of Your Presence, Lord, reveal Yourself and show them how to approach Your throne of Grace, in all circumstances. Search them, Heavenly Father.

Where they lack wisdom, let them ask boldly of You, believing that it will be given. Take away everything that is not of You. Steer and mold them to be better role models to their children as well as those who emulate them.

Abba Father, I pray that these men will continue to be positive influences in the lives of our youths, as they help build their self esteem.

Proverbs 23:24 –The father of the righteous has great joy. Whoever fathers a wise child delights in him.

Galatians 5:22-23 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

For Supportive Fathers With Deviant Children

I also pray for those who have been supportive fathers, but their children have taken a different path. I acknowledge them for the great effort. May the Holy Spirit bring these children back to God’s calling.

Thank you fathers, for providing the security for our children. Let us encourage one another in faith, knowing that we serve a Master, who has already supplied our every need. May these now be manifested in your lives.

These mercies I pray, in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! SO BE IT. AMEN and AMEN!

Philippians 4:19 – And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

James 1:5 – If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
