Devotional – God Sees the Big Picture
Today I happened to pass someone on the street that looked vaguely familiar. On taking a closer look I realized it was someone I had gone to school with in my teenage years. He was quite good-looking back in the day and he set many a heart racing.
At first I didn’t recognize him because he looked nothing like the handsome guy I remembered. As I passed him, my mind went back to my school days. I thought of how many girls went crazy over this guy (myself included).
What a shock all the women would have if they would have seen this guy today. He looked way over his age, not at all handsomely dressed, hair unkempt. Really, he is someone today that most of those girls of yesteryear would have passed by, without even noticing.
God sees into our future
I silently thanked God that He sees way into our futures. I thought of how easy it is to get carried away (as we often do) when something or someone catches our attention and all that floods our minds is the ‘now moment’.
God sees the bigger picture
Isn’t God just wonderful?! He actually saves us from ourselves sometimes, because we see now but God sees the big picture.
God sees our beginning and our ending all at once. He is the one who has planned all of our days and therefore He knows what’s best for us – all the time.
Maybe right now you’re struggling with the fact that God doesn’t want to give you something or someone you’ve been praying very earnestly about. Or God has removed something or someone from your life and you’re mad with God it or depressed about it.
God has been saving you
You know, it’s really difficult to see what God is doing in your life in the moment. But, if you look back in your life, you would realize that God has been saving you from situations that you didn’t take the time to speak to Him about. And situations that the devil has been planning for your defeat.
The Bible says in Psalms 103: 11 “For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great are His mercy and loving-kindness toward those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him.”
Take God at His word today. His word is true and He has promised that He will give us everything we would ever need for life.
May the truth of His word flood your heart as you continue to trust Him to take care of all you need, Amen.

Thank You Father for loving me and looking out for me and saving me from myself. When I look back on situations and circumstances that I have been in and delivered from, I realise how truly I am loved. Thank You for supplying all my needs and for not giving me some of my wants, as they would have been disasters. My sweet Lord. How I love You.
Dear God,

Lord Jesus,I know that You have a great plans for my life.

Dear Lord
Thank you for the plans You have for me (and my family) Help me to trust in You Father. Help me to look back and see how things have worked out for Your purpose. As we are going through this difficult time with our rebellious child, You are bigger than the problem. Thank You Lord for this child of mine to open his eyes to see You and his ears to listen to Your voice today. My trust is in You alone. Lord You have the Bigger picture of our lives. I ask this in the mighty Name of Jesus. AMEN

I’m sorry, I guess I’m a bit saddened that the article seems to be saying that God looked into the future and “the big picture” and that you are thanking God that he saw that this guy would not be good looking anymore like he was in high school?? Maybe he has a really good God centered heart. I don’ think that God would be doing you a favor because this guy was no longer “good looking”……….. I could see if you said that this guy turned out to be a current bad seed or something like “that”……but NOT SIMPLY BASED ON LOOKS……………… Maybe I didnt read “your point” correctly , but I guess It just saddened me to think that you feel God saved you from someone who turned out to be homely looking now.

God knows what is going to happen in our lives, rebuke the devil NOW AND GET WITH GOD BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!
Maybe he was having a day off. Or he was sick. Or maybe he aged a bit too quickly because of hard and stressful charity work in a different country or because he has an important job with a lot of people working under him. Maybe you shouldn't judge people based on your past feelings and call it the work of god. Maybe god saved him from you. Or maybe this is a way for your to give yourself some weird self satisfaction using your belief in god. God loves you no more than he loves that man.
I think that you have focused on the minor. What I did is take an ordinary everyday occurrence and use it as a point of reference to show that we don’t always think ahead, and that we cannot see into the future, and so make decisions based on the now without first seeking what God wants us to do.
This guy he lives not too far from me, and I see him almost every day, because that was not the focus I didn’t say this, so I was not judging the guy. I encourage you to re-read the article and look at the point that was made: about God loving us so dearly and the fact that He sees and knows our beginning and ending and that is the reason that we may not get something that we may want because God sees ahead and knows that it will not benefit us.
I do agree with you that God does not love anyone more than anyone – if that were true then salvation would only be for a chosen few – great choice of words there! The fact remains that God loves us all, and that includes you and I encourage you to take God at His word and allow Him to lead and guide you to your full potential.
